God has placed us in a land of abundance. Some of the many definitions of abundance are a copious supply; a great amount, a degree of plentifulness, the property of a more than adequate supply. So as I go about my day I think of how God provides things in abundance for me and I caution myself not to waste my abundance anymore. For example, you decide to grab a bite to eat from your favorite fast food place and as you ask for ketchup for your fries, the attendant grabs a handful of ketchup and puts it in your bag or tray. Now he or she knows that you probably only need about 3-4 packs however they supply you with about 8 packs I consider that an abundance.
Another example is you’re moving from one house to another, and you get some boxes from your nearby supermarket but by the end of the move you realize that you didn’t need all the boxes and you have plenty left over, I consider that an abundance. Want another? You go to you favorite restaurant and they give you so much food that you have left overs and need a box to take it home (abundance). Anything that we consider whether great or small that is a more than adequate supply is an abundance.
But my question is what do you do what your abundance? Do you throw away the extra 6 packets of ketchup that they Mcdonalds attendant gave you in the trash can? Do you dump the boxes that you had left over after your move? Do you get rid of the left over food that you obtained after the waiter served you too much? How do you use your abundance? Are you wasteful with it or do you use it wisely, keep it or share it with someone else who might need it? So as you ponder on what is written, consider the “small” abundances that God give you everyday, extra time on your job to work on a project, more sauce than you really needed at your favorite fast food restaurant, maybe it’s more food in your pantry that’s actually going bad that you know you should give away and feed someone that’s really hungry. Consider your everyday abundances and ask God how you can be a good steward over them while you consider those that are in need.

- Hello and welcome to a place of Spiritual Refuge. A place where you can come and meditate on the word of God as it encourages and empowers you to live on top of the world everyday. I've always had a passion for writing ever since I was a child. Now I'm an adult I've decided to allow God to use one of the many gifts he's given me to encourage and create a place of spiritual refuge for the discouraged, broken hearten and those who at times feel they have no hope. I thank God for all of the gifts that he has given me and my greatest intent is for me to give them back to him by using them for his Glory. Enjoy, be encouraged and inspired. Lorraine B :)
