What are you doing that's taking up majority of your time? What after work activities or engagements are you involved in that consume your time and effort? Have you ever asked yourself are any of these activities with the intention to leave a legacy for the generations to come? Is it even worth my time and complaints? Is what I'm doing for Christ or is it just out of routine and ritual? I realized that only what I do for Christ will last and if I'm going to invest my time in any activity or engagement after work, I 'd want my efforts to produce a legacy that will last for generations to come, I don't want all of my efforts just to be a ritual that will end up in vain. I want my efforts to touch lives, to have purpose.
I've often felt in the past that I hadn't had enough time for certain activities that I chose to get myself involved in. I was often burned out, requesting more time from God when what I really needed to do was to determine if half of the things I chose to be involved in, benefitted Christ in anyway. After listing them one by one, I realized that alot of the things I chose to do was to satisfy and appease people and their requests and it had nothing to do with what Christ requested of me. I was not using the gifts he gave me for his glory in any of the activities that I was involved in at all. I then quickly realized that if I couldn't serve him whole heartedly with these after work activities, then all of my moving and shaking and running up and down was in vain and that whatever I chose to do in this life has to benefit Christ and if it did, then they'd be no need for complaining. So my decision to dedicate my time in after work activities took a turn for doing what he required of me which is to use the talents he's given me. Whether it is ministering in the choir, or volunteering at a food bank to feed the homeless, whatever I chose to do has to be for him in order for it to last and for him to get the glory.
Are your after work activities going to last for Christ or are you burning yourself out in vain?

- Hello and welcome to a place of Spiritual Refuge. A place where you can come and meditate on the word of God as it encourages and empowers you to live on top of the world everyday. I've always had a passion for writing ever since I was a child. Now I'm an adult I've decided to allow God to use one of the many gifts he's given me to encourage and create a place of spiritual refuge for the discouraged, broken hearten and those who at times feel they have no hope. I thank God for all of the gifts that he has given me and my greatest intent is for me to give them back to him by using them for his Glory. Enjoy, be encouraged and inspired. Lorraine B :)
