Proverbs 17: 17 A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity NIV

Proverbs 18:24 There are friends who destroy each other but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. NLT

A true family member to me is anyone whether blood related or not, who will support you in whatever you do, will pray for you when you're going through, who will cheer you on and encourage you to hope and dream whether great or small. Who will love you despite of, who'll tell you the truth even when it hurts and who'll always be REAL with you. Who wants to see you better yourself and who'll never set youup for failure.

I've changed the way I look at the definition of family and have realized that those people that I now consider family proved themselves to me first by being true friends. Look around you, pay attention to who's in your inner circle, who's in your support system and ask yourself who can I really trust? Who can I take beyond the veil and show them the real me? Who's willing to cheer me on to my victory? Pay no attention to those who aren't in it for the long haul, who aren't friends for the long haul, who are not genuine. However pay close attention and stick to those who demonstrate acts of love, who are addicted to the word of God and never take them for granted because you'll soon come to realize that those people will eventually become your family.

So no longer will I worry about my immediate family whether they cheer me on or not, I now thank God for those I adopt as family who by his blood we are all bought.
